I have just completed my second week long Camino, both in Summer Heat. I am very grateful that I managed to avoid blisters on both occasions, as a Reflexologist, I have a good knowledge of all things feet and I put a few things into practice that I believe have helped. I am also aware that every situation is different and that I could do exactly the same thing next time and may get blisters, as its my belief that there are many different reasons why we get any message from our body, and that symptoms are sign posts, even blisters can tell us lots about what is going on for us.
According to Louise Hay
Blisters - Resistance; lack of emotional protection. "I allow my emotions to flow safely and protect myself with love
."Feet - Represent our understanding of ourselves, life, and others. Fear of the future, or not stepping forward in life ."I move forward in life with joy and ease."
It may of course also just be that we need different shoes or socks. Aside from the emotional root cause, here are some suggestions that might help save your Camino .
Top tips for preventing blisters on The Camino

Cut your toe nails before you go and bring nail clippers.
I wore hiking sandals and alternated with Brooks Runners, - The routes I did, were fine for this and the terrain didn't require hiking boots. The sandals meant when my feet swelled I could just adjust the straps. Another option is to size up in your footwear - feet will swell.
Toe Socks in Natural Material, - Bamboo, Wool, I wore Cotton - I wore them with my sandals (yip I was that person with socks and sandals) this was to prevent sunburn.
If you are getting luggage transported I recommend putting in a dish washing basin you can fill your clothes into it so it won't take up much more space - your feet will really benefit from being soaked at night most of the accommodations, don't have a bath.. You can also source foldable, portable foot basins which would work also and can be folded up pretty small.
A Spikey Massage Ball put a towel on the ground and roll over it every evening when you get in and again before bed.
A stretch band
Legs up the wall every evening.
Hydrate - Water, Electrolytes or Homeopathic Tissue Cell Salts.
I didn't use it personally but a few of my group used hiker wool when they felt a spot that was rubbing.
Book Reflexology when you get home.
